Creating a Culture of Growth
Mike is a senior member of Google's product management team, responsible for developing solutions to connect consumers with retailers and products from around the world. Prior to Google, he led product development at a variety of software companies for over 15 years, commercializing novel technologies for the media, finance, healthcare, intelligence, and defense industries.
A passionate advocate for entrepreneurship and social enterprise, Mike also leads Google Pittsburgh's community outreach efforts, giving him the opportunity to collaborate with and mentor local startups and small businesses in the region. He has organized, hosted, and spoken at several events for tech startups, venture capitalists, minority and women entrepreneurs, youth entrepreneurs, and nonprofit organizations.
Outside of Google, Mike is the founder of Awesome Pittsburgh, a micro-grant organization that awards $1000 each month with no strings attached to the person or organization with the best idea for bringing more awesomeness to the Pittsburgh region. He mentors startups participating in Alphalab's accelerator program and serves on the board of the Pittsburgh Film Office, which generates economic benefits for the region by bringing film productions to Pittsburgh.
Patrick brings with him over 10 years of product development and marketing experience with specialization in technology, product management, online advertising and website optimization. In the direct response space, Patrick directly managed a $30+ million marketing budget to drive year-over-year revenue growth for a category leader.
Patrick is an accomplished, results-driven marketing professional with 7 years of experience in digital customer generation. Patrick is responsible for the development of Level’s strategic agency partnerships. To realize our clients’ marketing objectives, Patrick ensures that ideas and projects flow seamlessly between teams. Before his executive role at the Agency, Patrick led Level’s performance marketing team to over $13 million in annual revenue.

Generation Z and the Future of Marketing
Pete Baird has over 12 years experience in developing successful media platforms and digital marketing strategies for brands at the international, national, and local levels. Pete has composed integrated interactive and traditional media plans for such prominent brands as Wal-Mart, AT&T, BMW, Cedar Fair Entertainment, Pennsylvania Tourism, the University of Maryland, and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. After a stint client-side running the digital marketing department at Kenny Ross Automotive, Pete now oversees media strategy, planning, and buying for all Red House clients. Pete graduated from Penn State and received his MBA in marketing strategy from the University of Maryland.
Manager, Analytics & Insight Department
Samantha Barnes is a Manager for the Analytics & Insight Department at LunaMetrics, a Pittsburgh-based consultancy. She has a passion for exploring data and loves the excitement of finding solutions and explanations behind metrics. As an analyst, she has enjoyed working with companies ranging from small, independent businesses to Fortune 500 organizations. Her background includes advertising, SEO, and analytics as well as involvement in the arts.
David Safin is Assistant Professor of Communication at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. He holds a Master of Fine Arts in Film and Digital Technology from Chatham University in Pittsburgh where he completed the thesis paper, "You Had to Be There: Documentary Techniques in Narrative Comedies." His thesis film, "The Birthday Present," which applied many of the theories detailed in his paper, has won multiple awards and screened at numerous festivals. His areas of interest include video production, television criticism, digital culture, and film studies. He and his wife Kate live in Jeannette, Pennsylvania with their daughter, Lily and son, Andrew.
Jeff Croushore has been having the time of his life at Idlewild & SoakZone for 25 years, having served in leadership roles in Games, Retail, Rides and Attractions, Human Resources, Sales and Public Relations, before eventually being named Director of Marketing. He thoroughly enjoys the opportunity of telling the stories of the historic amusement park, which is recognized as the third longest-operating park in the United States, and which has provided countless memories for generations of families from western Pennsylvania and beyond. The park was recently named “Best Children’s Park” for the 8th consecutive year in an international survey conducted by Amusement Today. Jeff is also the author of the book, “Idlewild”, which is part of Arcadia Publishing’s “Images of America” history series.
Ed Saxton is the Vice President of Production for Schell Games. With a focus on team safety and trust, he supervises the company’s production team and sets the tone for the production style. Ed’s love of working on teams and problem solving led him to Schell Games. At Schell Games, Ed focuses on mentoring and managing within the production department, collaborating with teams to ensure projects finish on time and on budget, and incorporating positive team dynamics within the studio.
Alex Byers is the Assistant Director of Digital Media at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Saint Vincent in 2008 in Communication, he perused a full-time career in wedding photography and videography at Fineline Weddings, a full-service award-winning wedding vendor. Alex now serves as the lead photographer, videographer and currently social media administrator for SVC’s marketing and admission team.
Megan is the Marketing Director for Bowser Automotive Inc. (Power of Bowser). With ten years of experience in the automotive industry, she aims to bridge the gap between consumer perception and the reality of the industry through marketing and public relations.
Megan is a 2008 graduate of Saint Vincent College with a B.A. in Communication and concentration in advertising and public relations. Upon graduating, she began working for Hyundai and Toyota of Greensburg beginning in administrative assistance before moving into a finance management position and finally advertising manager for the group. In 2014, Megan accepted a more challenging role as the marketing director for Bowser Automotive Inc. where she manages the creative and execution of advertising and community relations efforts for six automotive brands across a variety of media including social media platforms.
If I attended last year, is it beneficial for me to attend again this year?
YES! This year's Summit features new speakers, new topics and a Lightning Round panel that promises to show you six new tips or tricks to use for your business.
What time should I arrive for the event?
The doors open at 8:30 am. Open registration, networking, and light breakfast will be available from 8:30 am - 9:00 am.
Is parking available?
Yes, plenty of free parking is available. When entering the campus of Saint Vincent College, tell the booth attendant you're attending Summit, and he/she will direct you to the parking lot right outside of the building.
What is the dress code?
Dress is casual; jeans and relaxed clothes are encouraged!
Is wi-fi available?
Yes! Free wi-fi is available
Do I need to bring a laptop or electronic tablet?
Bringing an electronic device is not necessary for the event, however if you would like to bring a laptop or tablet, you will be able to connect to the wi-fi available on campus.
How do I get to the Fred Rogers Center at Saint Vincent College?
The address for the college is: 300 Fraser Purchase Rd, Latrobe, PA 15650, and the Fred Rogers Center is located on Monastery Road. Get directions and see it on a map.
What time will the event be over?
The 2017 Interactive Marketing Summit will conclude around 3 p.m.
If I can't make it to this year's event, will there be other educational opportunities available?
Yes! The Laurel Highlands Visitors Bureau hosts the Interactive Marketing Summit every year on the first Friday of November. Hopefully you'll be able to join us next year!
