Job Title: Director of Interactive Marketing

The Laurel Highlands Visitors Bureau (LHVB) is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to promoting, supporting, and developing tourism in PA’s Laurel Highlands region, generally comprised of Fayette, Somerset, and Westmoreland counties.

The Laurel Highlands Visitors Bureau is seeking a director of interactive marketing with a minimum of 5 years experience in social media management, website development, and digital marketing strategy. The director of interactive marketing is responsible for managing the LHVB's website, social media accounts, digital marketing initiatives, and customer relationship management system. This position requires around-the-clock monitoring of the LHVB's social media accounts.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manages multiple projects and campaigns simultaneously, including website development, SEO/SEM, email marketing, online promotions, social media, online ads, and more.

Website Maintenance and Development 

  • Oversees and maintains the functionality and content components of, and initiates enhancements to www.laurelhighlands.org.
  • Collaborates with bureau’s SEO consultant to implement an effective SEO/SEM strategy.
  • Performs on-page and off-page optimization; builds customized and keyword optimized landing pages on laurelhighlands.org for digital marketing initiatives. 
  • Initiates and manages contests and sweepstakes to increase web traffic and build consumer database.

Social Media Management

  • Manages, maintains, and executes the LHVB’s social media accounts, marketing campaigns and applications; incorporates new platforms when relevant.
  • Creates, monitors, and optimizes paid social media advertisements.
  • Reviews and evaluates website and social media analytics and reports results to management.

Digital Marketing Campaign Creation 

  • In collaboration with other marketing staff, monitors goals, budgeted revenue and expenses for all online advertising opportunities and digital marketing campaigns. 
  • Manages the LHVB online advertising campaigns, including identification of goals and development and implementation of online advertising strategies; reviews effectiveness of those campaigns by establishing and measuring outcomes; evaluates ROI of campaigns through website and social media metrics.
  • Develops, formats, and manages distribution of consumer and member e-newsletters.

CRM

  • Utilizes CRM to build and manage database for consumer e-newsletters and other online initiatives. 
  • Oversees the staff use and development of the company CRM database system by creating best practices for data organization, establishing customization as needed, initiating enhancements, hosting training, and more.

Other

  • Attend conferences, seminars, and meetings as appropriate to keep abreast of current digital marketing trends, including their impact on the membership and region; ensure that new strategies are developed and implemented based on those trends.
  • Develops curriculum for, and organizes workshops, conferences and other marketing events for members and/or the general public, including the annual Interactive Marketing Summit.
  • Manages and collaborates on other projects and initiatives as necessary.

Education and Experience
Essential:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required – Marketing, Communications, Web Management, Multi-Media Design, or related field.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work cooperatively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Advanced knowledge of CMS (content management systems) and database management systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of and experience with social media platforms. 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in social media management and digital marketing.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. 
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Dreamweaver and Photoshop programs.
  • Intermediate knowledge of HTML and CSS.
  • Intermediate knowledge of web analytics, social media advertising, search engine optimization, and search engine marketing (PPC) platforms.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work without supervision.
  • Attention to detail and delivery. 
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects in fast-paced deadline driven environment.

  • Knowledge of the region’s tourism industry.

The Laurel Highlands Visitors Bureau is seeking a marketing manager with a minimum of 3 years experience in a professional office environment. The marketing manager is responsible for assisting in the placement management and support of all Marketing initiatives as needed.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manage all LHVB Participant data in the CRM database, organizing contacts, approving and editing information submitted through the LHVB Partner Extranet, making regular updates, and finding and entering special events, packages, and media assets. 
  • Manage, organize, and maintain the LHVB’s image/video gallery. Fulfill and submit image requests.
  • Design, create, and edit print, digital, and video projects.
  • Edit and/or resize image files and perform associated tasks in CMS and/or CRM systems.
  • Assist the VP of Marketing & and Director of Interactive Marketing with the maintenance of consumer-related information, including website content, newsletters, sweepstakes, and other marketing projects.
  • Create, edit, and update sales contracts and media kit information for sales team as requested.
  • Assist the VP of Marketing with coordination and development of all Laurel Highlands Visitors Bureau collateral materials, including the annual Destination Guide. This includes organization of project information from concept to completion.
  • Assist with proofreading of any LHVB materials.
  • Coordinate and/or assist with marketing-related events, such as partner trainings, contests, sweepstakes, presentations, etc.
  • Educate LHVB marketing partners on how to use the LHVB Partner Extranet by offering regular aid, hosting training sessions, and producing training materials.
  • Maintain data in and make improvements to the Marketing Department’s use of CRM to track campaigns.
  • Assist in content creation for various LHVB initiatives, including collateral pieces, website copy, blog and e-newsletter content as needed.
  • Manage and organize photos and submissions for the annual LHVB Photo Contest.
  • Manage A/V functions for LHVB presentations
  • Offer support to LHVB Marketing & PR staff as needed.

Education and Experience
Essential:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Media Arts, Marketing, or related field required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite programs – InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, Dreamweaver
  • Advanced Video Editing Skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs
  • Basic knowledge of HTML & CSS 
  • Basic knowledge of CRM and Website CMS Systems.
  • Strong verbal and written skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects in fast-paced deadline driven environment..
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work cooperatively with team members and stakeholders.
