Staff training can come in many forms. One of the best ways to immerse front-line tourism employees into the Laurel Highlands region is by boarding a motorcoach and joining the Bureau for our annual Backyard Tour.
Each Spring the LHVB explores a different part of the region. The tour itself remains a mystery – that’s part of the fun! The day typically begins at 7 a.m. and concludes at 7 p.m. During this time, the group will visit between 8 and 13 tourism partners. The trip might include stops at a B&B, vacation rental, resort, restaurant, bakery, gift store, antique shop, national or state park site, or a unique attraction. Lunch and Dinner are provided. The Backyard Tour is also an excellent networking opportunity with your fellow tourism partners on the motorcoach. You’ll have an opportunity to share business cards, brochures, and talk about your individual business throughout the day.
