  5.  How are you different than my Chamber of Commerce?
We encourage tourism businesses to partner with their local chamber of commerce AND the LHVB.  Here’s why.  The Chamber is your fellow core of business owners.  When you need a new printer, an upgrade to your telephone system or a caterer for an event, it’s best to reach out to those fellow business owners in your chamber.  Look at the LHVB as an extension of your marketing efforts.  We are marketing to major metropolitan areas like DC, Columbus, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Pittsburgh just to name a few.  We are marketing to visitors to come to our region and stay overnight in our lodging and camping areas.  Our marketing efforts are extensive; over $1 million spent per year. That includes our efforts through social media, public relations, and niche group travel.  Our defining difference is marketing the Laurel Highlands as a desirable destination to visitors.
  6. Do you have any giveaways I can get for my event?
Our Regional Map, Destination Guide, Calendar of Events, and Summer Fun Coupon Books are available at your request.
  7. Do you have anyone who can come and speak to my group about tourism or social media?
Several members of our staff would be delighted to share our knowledge and spread our message at your business. Read more about our Speakers Bureau, and contact Anna Weltz for further inquiries.
  8. Will the LHVB share special information about my business with their social media audience? (such as big news, events, or deals)
Yes! As long as the information is relevant to the LHVB’s social media audience, partners of the LHVB can share their post with the LHVB on social media or email the director of interactive marketing to request a post.
  9. Can I join after your guide is printed?
Yes, we welcome partners to join us anytime during the course of the year.  It’s best to join in time to be included in our Destination Guide (distribution of 150,000), but if you can’t make the deadline, we can chat about what we are able to do for you through our website, brochure distribution, PR and social media efforts.
