Tourism Grant Program

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The purpose of this grant program is to increase visitation, enhance the visitor experience, and increase overnight stays in Fayette, Somerset, and Westmoreland counties. A percentage of each county's room tax is allocated to a grant program specifically established to support the county’s tourism assets.

GRANT ADMINISTRATION
The Laurel Highlands Visitors Bureau is the administrator of the grant programs, overseeing the documentation process and compliance with guidelines. Grants are subject to audit each year. Grants are disbursed at the direction of the grant committee designated by each county.

Criteria and guidelines are established by each county. Please refer to your county's guidelines.

2019 Tourism Grant Timelines and Grant Chats

Grant Chats

Join the LHVB to learn what you need to know about your county’s 2019 Tourism Grant Program. We encourage anyone interested in applying for a tourism grant to attend this free meeting. Reservations are required and can be made by contacting Rachel Roehrig at rroehrig@laurelhighlands.org or 724-238-5661, ext. 101. Deadline to RSVP is Sept. 24. Please indicate your county when calling.

  • Westmoreland County - Monday, Oct. 1, 9-11 a.m. at the Christ Our Shepherd Center in the Westmoreland Room. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m.
  • Fayette County - Monday, Oct. 1, 2-3 p.m. at Penn-State Fayette's Eberly Corporate Training Center in Room 116. Registration will begin at 1:30 p.m.
  • Somerset County - Tuesday, Oct. 2, 3-4 p.m. at Somerset Country Club. Registration will begin at 2:30 p.m.

 

Light refreshments will be available at each session. Grant applications will be available online at www.laurelhighlands.org/grants on Oct. 8. Completed applications will be due Nov. 16, 2018.

 

Fayette County
