Since 1968 the Community Arts Center has been keeping the Arts Alive in Cambria County through art classes and workshops, 8 exhibitions annually, Outbound Art outreach programs; special events like American Girl Family-A-Fair, Concerts-on-the-Green, Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre, and hosting exquisite artisan festivals like the annual Log House Arts Festival & the Holly Bazaar. The beautiful facility is available to the public to rent for special events. The center is the home of the Ponas Doll Museum and the Shirley Gaynor permanent exhibition, as well as the area's only fully equipped Pottery Studio and premier Glass Fusion Studio. The Community Arts Center is committed to permeating the region with access to the best in Fine Arts year-round. Located on Rt. 271 just southwest of downtown Johnstown. The Community Arts Center is an ideal location for hosting special events such as receptions, showers, graduation and birthday parties. The upstairs large event room holds between 65-85 guests based on a seated vs. cocktail style event; it has vaulted ceilings, large windows, and outdoor access. The Ponas Doll Room is a slightly more intimate alternative, holding 30-40 guests, and is surrounded by our permanent doll collection. Outdoor space is also available for larger gatherings. The Arts Center provides rates for both members and non-members, and can be utilized 7 days a week throughout the year, (special Sunday rates may apply).
The Arts Center has two galleries, The Goldhaber-Fend Fine Arts Center and the Shirley Gaynor permanent collection, with rotating exhibitions all year long.
