The Buy Local Network program, an initiative of Fay-Penn Economic Development Council, and partnered with the Herald-Standard and WMBS radio, encourages citizens to support the local economy by looking at locally-owned businesses first when making purchases or looking for services.
The network is currently made up of over 100 locally-owned businesses and supports the Buy Local Community Discount Card, which is available for purchase and use in the area. The Buy Local Card can be used to obtain savings and discounts at Buy Local Network businesses.
In addition to the support of local businesses, the Buy Local Network and Fay-Penn also manage and/or support six Farmers' Markets in the region. These markets include: Uniontown, Brownsville, Scottdale, Masontown, Greensboro, and Connellsville.
