Overview

Sashiko mending is deep-rooted in Japanese culture. Used for centuries, this simple running stitch has made its debut in the US as consumers are becoming more aware of the environmentally destructive nature of the fashion industry. Mending clothing and other wearables is not only fun but meditative and earth-friendly. You are invited to bring any clothing item to mend (jeans or other denim items work great!), or you can make a patch to take home and apply later. No prior sewing experience is needed. Please call with any questions. Registration required.
