The 39th annual free summer concert series, Concerts-on-the-Green, is underway at the Community Arts Center of Cambria County. The concerts are held on the Community Arts Center’s grounds every Wednesday evening beginning June 27th at 7:00pm through August 15th. The concerts are in conjunction with the Civic Band and organized by member Paul Rhoades. This year’s co-corporate sponsor is the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies, Pennsylvania Rural Arts Alliance, and others.
The Community Arts Center of Cambria County invites the public to bring a lawn chair or blanket to listen to these concerts which take place in front of the Goldhaber-Fend Fine Arts Center and Log House.
Walt Churchey was born and raised in Johnstown, PA. He started performing and writing not long after high school. His small-town values show in his music. Walt's love of the song shows in each performance; from the first note to the last chord you can feel his passion.
Denise Baldwin is a singer, guitarist, songwriter, director, and instructor originally from the Pittsburgh area. Known for her powerful, polished vocals, she's mastered the ability to jump genres from rock to pop to soul to country, and capably accompanies herself on both her 12-string Martin and 6-string Larrivee guitars.
Satrycon—Larry Foust is a Johnstown native. He sings and plays multiple keyboards. He performs everyone’s favorite music throughout the years.
Civic Band—The late Sam Signarino was director of the Civic Band for numerous years, then transitioned to president. Mr. Signarino passed away last year. Dick Gardenhour has served as director of the Civic Band for the last few years and continues. Civic Band contains approximately 50 members. They’ve been playing at the Community Arts Center of Cambria County for 39 years. They perform everyone’s favorite music throughout the years.
