The Historic Summit Inn Resort & The Black Bear Bungalow Treehouse
The grand veranda at the Summit Inn Resort offers one of the best views in the Laurel Highlands. The view from the porch isn't the only thing worth a visit at The Summit Inn. In addition to the pristine golf courses, wonderful amenities, pools, and hiking trails at the resort, you'll find the Black Bear Bungalow Treehouse, a "Treehouse Masters" Treehouse, designed by renowned treehouse architect Pete Nelson and his team. Seasonal daily tours are given, and the Treehouse is available to rent for small gatherings and events. The Treehouse features a forty-five foot bridge that leads to the cozy house. Take in the view of the Chestnut Ridge from the wrap-around deck.
Frank Lloyd Wright’s Duncan House
One of only 6 Wright homes in the world that is available for overnight stays, the Duncan House at Polymath Park is a one-of-a-kind place to stay. Nestled in among the trees, the Duncan House fits right in with two other homes designed by Wright’s apprentice, Peter Berndtson. You would never know that the house was not originally built here. The home was relocated from Illinois by Wright conservationists. Complete your stay with a farm-to-table meal at Tree Tops Restaurant, another Wright inspired location.
