Ribbon Cutting for Westmoreland County Visitor Information Center

A virtual time capsule welcomes visitors to the new Westmoreland County Visitor Information Center in Youngwood.

Photos of “Hometown Heroes: Fred Rogers and Arnold Palmer” and an antique children’s handcart from historic Idlewild Park mark the entrance. A “Lincoln Highway Experience” display details that historic highway, now called Route 30.  

Memorial Day was the official start to vacation season and if you are pondering where to go and what to do this summer, one can find advice at county tourist agencies, visitor centers and websites for Allegheny, Butler, Beaver, Washington and Westmoreland counties.
