Shanksville, PA: Come join us on Friday, April 13, at 7:00 pm on the 5th floor of Johnstown Area Heritage Association’s Discovery Center building for a night of fun and learning as the Friends of Flight 93, National Parks of Western Pennsylvania (WEPA), and the Johnstown Area Heritage Association present “Hydration History: How Luck Changed History.” Modeled after the popular show Drunk History, the event will feature multiple storytellers presenting short stories on how luck, good or bad, influenced local historical events. The event will also include trivia during the story breaks, a Q&A session at the end of the night, and a cash bar featuring themed cocktails to go along with the stories.
The event staff will consist of National Park Service rangers from Flight 93 National Memorial and Johnstown Flood National Memorial, faculty from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, the Friends of Flight 93 and the Johnstown Area Heritage Association.
Proceeds from this event will go to the Friends of Flight 93 to help fund Flight 93 National Memorial’s first-ever alternative break service program. Flight 93 National Memorial will host 10-12 students from Penn State DuBois during this year’s Plant a Tree at Flight 93 event. The students will learn about topics such as reforestation, strip mine reclamation, the story of Flight 93, careers in the National Park Service, active citizenship and volunteerism, as well as have an opportunity to experience work hands-on field work with foresters in the preparation and planting process of the reforestation event.
Registration for Hydration History can be found on the Friends of Flight 93 website at www.flight93friends.org/hydration-history. Registration cost is $10 for the general public and $7 for students. You must be 18 years old to attend and 21 years of age to drink; ID’s will be checked at the door. Doors open at 6:30 PM the night of the event.

ABOUT THE JOHNSTOWN AREA HERITAGE ASSOCIATION (JAHA)
The Johnstown Area Heritage Association is a nonprofit, membership-based organization that preserves and presents Johnstown’s nationally significant stories to the nation. They provide high-quality educational, cultural and recreational experiences in the area’s unique historic settings through a linked system of attractions and historic districts known as the Johnstown Discovery Network. JAHA operates the Johnstown Flood Museum and the Frank & Sylvia Pasquerilla Heritage Discovery Center.
