In the Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania sits the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. Among its accommodations, the stunning Falling Rock boutique hotel pays homage to the nearby Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater and lesser-known Kentuck Knob.

For relaxation, Falling Rock’s infinity pool is exclusive to hotel guests, while The Woodlands Spa and the Holistic Healing Center provide a variety of soothing treatments.

At the Adventure Center you can choose from a variety of fun outings, like zip-lining. The Fatbird Superflyer offers dueling lines. The Fatbird Canopy Tour adds challenges in the tree in addition to zipping. At the Wildlife Academy, sign up for a Jamaican dogsled ride or horseback tour.

Five fine-dining restaurants and several casual restaurants and lounges include Forbes 5-Star/AAA 5-Diamond “Lautrec.” Nemacolin has the largest wine cellar (21,000 bottles) in Pennsylvania. Wine tastings Wednesdays and Saturdays at 4 p.m., wine cellar tours Thursday and Saturdays at 3 p.m.

Also: The Mystic Rock Golf Course, designed by Peter Dye, is one of two onsite. The resort’s Maggie Valley RV Park provides luxurious amenities for avid RVers. Pet boarding available to all guests. Lady Luck Casino is 3 miles away. Fallingwater (fallingwater.org) and Kentuck Knob (kentuckknob.com) are about 12 miles.
