Celebrate the maple heritage of Somerset County, the largest maple producing county in PA with a "spotza party" indicative of those thrown for friends and neighbors of early maple producers. We will fill the room with the aroma of boiling maple syrup as we serve the famous taffy treat locally called "spotza" and freshly stirred sugar while interpreting fascinating maple lore and history of the region. Then, tour our exhibits of rural life in western Pennsylvania from the early Monongahela Native Americans to the modern farms of today in the comfort of the Visitor's Center. Options for tours include a visit to our c1773 settler's cabin, log farmstead, covered bridge, c1895 cider press, and maple camp. We can tailor a tour to meet your needs!
