Places to Stay
What are you going to do today? Hopefully your plans include a visit to KERBER’s where you can see the Laurel Highland’s largest hillside ice cream cone! Established in 1961, Kerber’s is a family owned and operated business in the Laurel Highlands countryside in North Huntingdon Township. Easy to get to, we are an ideal place to enjoy an afternoon or evening of family fun. For generations visitors have made Kerber’s a must – whether for a tasty ice cream cone, a round of miniature golf, a tubing run, or to enjoy our famous fall hay rides.
Our 18 hole miniature golf course has 3 ponds, a river and 200 trees and shrubs. Beautifully landscaped by day, but by night, our course transforms into a lighted experience you won’t want to miss. We offer a combo package of golf and a cone and our course is handicapped accessible. We offer special $5 rate if you hit the links before noon.
Our tubing run is a year-round experience. Race your friends down a 400 foot run to the bottom. Open spring, summer and fall on a unique fast surface, and in the winter – snow or no snow – our tubing will have you screaming from top to bottom. (Riders must be at least 6 years of age).
Probably the biggest highlight of the year is our Annual Fall Pumpkin Days Festival. Mr. Kerber himself drives our tractor pulling special wagons which offer enjoyment for riders of all ages. We even have a wagon built for those who are susceptible to hay allergies! Yes, we think of everything at Kerber’s. You’ll enjoy a leisurely hay ride, pick out a pumpkin from Kerber’s large selection, then back to our Dairy Store to enjoy an ice cream treat.
For the smaller tykes we have a nice playground for them to enjoy. Our party area is ideally suited for birthday parties. We do the planning and clean-up, you bring the cake, and the kids have the fun. You can simply bring your camera and capture all those special moments. Call for package pricing.
Hopefully you’ve noticed a theme here – ICE CREAM. For over 60 years Kerber’s has been churning out delicious homemade ice cream using the freshest, and sometimes, most unusual ingredients. You’ll find your traditional favorites, but we also offer seasonal favorites – like Rum Raisin, Winter Wonderland, Eggnog in Winter. Cherry Chocolate Chip in February in honor of George Washington and his cherry tree. And wait until you taste Coconut Shell. YUM. We make milk shakes, sundaes, floats and banana splits too. We make our own iced tea. And, Mondays through Fridays, we offer a hot lunch as well.
