Pasternak Recreational Area
Avonmore Canoe launch with public access at Pasternak Recreational Area is located on the Kiskiminetas river in Avonmore, PA. The area abounds with wildlife and natural beauty. A primitive campground is available as well as a fishing area, pavilion, porta-potties, and grill. A grocery store, pizza shop, playground, bank with ATM, post office, auto repair shop, bars and clubs are within walking distance. The area is maintained through a partnership between Avonmore Community Association and Avonmore Borough. The historic river town has been designated a Greenway Community. Camping permits must be obtained by calling 724-697-4921.
