Gallitzin State Forest

The Gallitzin State Forest is comprised of over 24,000 acres in northern Somerset, Bedford, Cambria, and Indiana counties. There are two tracts of land. The larger Babcock Division is located just east of Windber and includes the Clear Shade Wild Area along with two State Forest Hiking trails: the John P. Saylor and Lost Turkey trails. The smaller Laurel Run/Rager Mountain Division is located just north of Johnstown and includes the Charles F. Lewis Natural Area.
