Halloween

Halloween in the Laurel Highlands.
It’s scary fun!

This year for Halloween, plan a spooky getaway that’s more “thrilling” than “chilling.”

Hallowboo!

Hallowboo! at Idlewild Park is a delightfully non-scary event that offers youngsters “something good to eat” while trick-or-treating through Story Book Forest. Classic rides are open, as well as train rides through the park’s colorful forest. With hours of autumn fun and entertainment to be had, Hallowboo! is definitely a “treat” worth experiencing.

Hair-Raising Fun

Haunted Hayloft
For those a little older, and looking for a more hair-raising experience, you’re always welcome to climb aboard one of our haunted hayrides. Haunted Hayloft features 11 new haunts including a corn maze and haunted hayride through the Haunted Forest.

Huston's Haunted Hollow
Then, if you’d like to add to your goose-bump collection, you can always treat yourself to a fright at Huston’s Haunted Hollow. Their haunted house will have you on edge from the moment you enter, while their Hayride of Horror & Evil Forest will have you clinging to your companion along the most frightening 30–minute ride of your life. Afterwards, you can settle your jangling nerves and calm yourself around a blazing bon fire while savoring your favorite refreshments.

Halloween in Laurel Highlands Allen's Haunted Hayride
Allen’s Haunted Hayride
takes you through the countryside in the pitch-black night on Route 666. You’ll journey through the woods, cornfields, and into an authenticated “haunted barn.” Afterwards, while you’re heart is still pounding away, why not jump on one of their carnival rides and keep the adrenaline pumping. There are games and concession for you to enjoy, too.

The Frightening Past

Or, for an altogether different kind of “scary,” there’s the Haunted History Hayride at Bushy Run Battlefield. Here, you’ll learn what a truly scary place the American frontier was for soldiers, settlers, and Native Americans alike. But instead of werewolves, vampires, and demons, this hayride will have you clutching someone’s hand with tales of battle wounds, small pox, and harrowing escapes.
