Fall Sports & Activities
This fall, enjoy a little change of scenery –– in the Laurel Highlands
As the “green” of summer changes to the vibrant “reds, yellows, and oranges” of fall, the whole personality of the Laurel Highlands changes, as well –– to one of brilliance and beauty. Beauty so dramatic, some have said it rivals the spectacular fall foliage of New England.
Of course, we invite you to come judge for yourself. The second or third week in October would be perfect. Because that’s when the fall color peaks here in the Laurel Highlands. And everywhere you turn…drive, bike, walk, kayak, climb, or ride…you’ll be surrounded by a vivid palette of fall color.
Autumn Adventures Abound
And when you get here, you certainly won’t be left wondering what to do. Activities abound in autumn –– from trekking and biking our mountainous terrains and challenging trails to rock climbing, horseback riding, bird watching, and celebrating at one of our many fall festivals.
Whitewater rapids will test your courage and ignite your adrenaline, while a leisurely floating tour will have you completely at ease as you take in the scenery along the river. Hunters and anglers can test their skills in a sporting destination that’s fertile breeding ground for an abundance of wildlife. And “Weekend Ornithologists” and wildlwill have plenty of birds to “watch” and wonder at, including both native and migrating species.
Our three resorts, of course, will welcome anyone looking for a nice mix of outdoor, and indoor, adventure –– from fly fishing, golfing, and off-roading to bowling, swimming, and simply luxuriating at the spa. It doesn’t matter which resort you select –– Seven Springs Mountain Resort, Hidden Valley Resort, or Nemacolin Woodlands Resort –– you can venture in and out as you please –– enjoying the best of both worlds, all in one place.
Finally, when it’s time for a little shuteye, you’ll have a wide variety of great lodging options to choose from, including our hotels and resorts, charming B&B’s, luxury rentals, and even cozy, rustic cabins.
