Latrobe, Pennsylvania joins cities the likes of Brooklyn, New York, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and San Francisco, California in celebrating the 100th anniversary of the historic 1916 motorcycle ride where two sisters became the first women to cross the continental United States. Augusta and Adeline Van Buren hopped on their motorcycles to prove to the U.S. government that women could serve as dispatch riders in World War I. In honor of this tremendous accomplishment, more than 75 women on motorcycles will join the Sisters' Centennial Motorcycle Ride in retracing the Van Buren sisters' journey from New York to California with a stop at Pennsylvania's own Lincoln Highway Experience. Join us on July 8th at 9am for a Welcome Event and Rider's Meet & Greet for the Sisters' Ride as their three week journey travels through the scenic Lincoln Highway. Contact the Lincoln Highway Heritage Corridor, 3435 State Route 30 East, Latrobe, PA 15650 at 724-879-4241 for more information about the Rider's Meet & Greet.
