Set aside some “Me Time” on October 1 to experience the beautiful Laurel Highlands on a self-driving tour that includes parts of Fayette, Somerset and Westmoreland Counties. The Fall Tour Itinerary includes 3 State Parks, 2 Historic Roads (National Road and Lincoln Highway), and 1 State Forest; as well as admission to two historic sites. The Itinerary is loose enough to have some time on your own, but structured enough so you’ll benefit from 4-5 expert docents throughout the day that were scheduled just for our group. All registrants will receive their own copy of the Itinerary at the 1st stop—Lick Hollow State Forest Picnic Pavilion—for coffee/donuts. Once we’re in the Ohiopyle area, you’ll be on your own for lunch (recommendations and addresses are listed in the Itinerary booklet). We’ll end the day in Ligonier/Latrobe area with a Social that includes hearty appetizers and wine/beer selections. $12 fee per person. For questions/registration, call 724-879-4241 or to pay online, visit www.LHHC.org. Must register by Sept. 24.
