Participants will create fabric pieces using embroidery techniques to create an expressive textile piece depicting a map of Westmoreland County. Each participant will be given a 12x12 inch fabric map which they will be able to paint with locally foraged natural dyes. Afterward, participants will learn how to embroider their piece with imagery related to the culture and history of Westmoreland County and Latrobe. Workshop fee is $40 and reservations are required. Contact Lauren Churilla, curator of the McCarl Gallery, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 724-805-2188 for reservations or inquiries about the lecture and workshop.
