Beginning November 25th the public is welcome to visit Arbutus Park Retirement Community in Richland for a spectacular holiday train display featuringG” or large-scale Garden trains on a 16 by 24 foot platform.

The detailed display features a North Pole village with new Observatory and Reindeer Amusement Ride, an amusement park, an old German village with brewery, and a 1940’s and 50’s village.  New this year, the display will include a Native American Village with tepees, stage coach and trading post.  There will also be a new-style nativity on display.

This year, visitors can enjoy playing “Christmas Town I Spy,” a game highlighting a few of the numerous scenes in the train display located in the Community Room of Arbutus Park Manor at 207 Ottawa Street. The exhibit is free and open to the public.

Children of all ages can experience the hands-on Christmas Town Touch Table and have the opportunity to earn an “Engineer’s Certificate” signed by Arbutus’ Chief Engineer.

Model train enthusiasts Ron Reinbold and Win Garland have shared their love of trains by building the Christmas Town Railroad display featuring over 150 miniature people, 15 vehicles, two point to point inner city street car lines and five trains operating simultaneously. 2016 marks the 9th year for the Arbutus Christmas Town Train Display.
