The Community Arts Center of Cambria County, located in Westmont section of Johnstown, will be holding its annual Used Book Sale April 27 and 28, 2017 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and April 29, 2017 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
The Community Arts Center is requesting the communities help through the donation of books. Gently read books are needed to make this year’s sale a success. Donations come from members and friends of the community throughout the spring for the Used Book Sale. Acceptable book donations cover a wide variety of topics and interest for both children and adults; including hardbacks, paperbacks, audio books and CDs. The Community Arts Center asks that no Text Books, Readers Digest, or Magazines be donated. Hardback books are $1.00. Paperbacks are 25-50 cents.
The Community Arts Center will also be holding an Attic Sale in conjuncture with the annual books sale on April 27th through the 29th. Attendees will be able to purchase items belonging to the Community Arts Center of Cambria County. Items for sale include thimbles, craft items, material, decorations, miscellaneous art supplies, items that had been displayed as part of galleries, and more. The sale is taking place so that the Community Arts Center can share some of the wonderful items it has acquired over the years with the public, and to provide the Community Arts Center with more space to store newly acquired items. The Community Arts Center will not be accepting donations for the Attic Sale.
“The Community Arts Center’s annual Used Book Sale is a wonderful hidden gem. Although, it is the wonderful members of our community that help make it possible. We have generous volunteers who help with the setup. But we can never have enough books. We need everyone to pitch in and donate. Your book could become someone’s new treasure. I love our Used Book Sale because it’s a rewarding feeling to see people want to read a “real” book.” - Angela R. Godin, Executive Director
