Remember the last episode of The Bachelorette two weeks ago? Did you find yourself wondering if Chad is gone for good? Or maybe you sat there wishing you were JoJo in that grand Presidential Suite? Even better -- how about being in the hot tub with one of those incredibly sexy bachelors?
Well sorry to be a reality slap, but none of that's going to happen. But in three hours you can be at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort where it was filmed, and you wouldn't have to dump a jerk like Chad, have a fist fight, or constantly engage in drama to enjoy the peaceful resort.
The Pennsylvania resort was ready for The Bachelorette and it's ready for you. In 2015 a $30-million renovation was completed that included the Chateau LaFayette, the main hotel. The spacious rooms received new furnishings, carpeting, bedding, and a warm new color palette. JoJo's digs, the Presidential Suite on the fifth floor, got a $1-million transformation including vanishing TVs in the bathroom mirrors.
The Bachelors' pad, Arden Estates, also had a total interior remodel, going for a rustic elegant feel. It sleeps 22, and has everything you've ever wanted -- billiards, a poker table, and bar area connected to a double-tiered deck with two hot tubs.
If neither the Chateau nor Arden Estates fits your style, there's the Lodge and Falling Rock. Falling Rock is a Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired, ultra-luxurious boutique hotel where each room has 24-hour butler service. At night, your butler brings you milk and cookies and will even draw you a bath with candles and rose petals. This hotel overlooks the championship Pete Dye Mystic Rock golf course, and has a private infinity pool, indoor and outdoor dining, and is best enjoyed without kids.
And it's easy to see why Nemacolin was chosen to be the backdrop for the newest Bachelorette JoJo on her search for love. (The second episode featuring Nemacolin airs Monday, June 20th.) It sits on 2,000 acres in the Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania and is described by president and owner of Nemacolin, Maggie Hardy Magerko, as "luxury with a whimsical twist." Seriously, how many resorts have a Wildlife Academy on property featuring red sheep, bears, bison, zebra, a Bengal tiger, and more?
Life-like sculptures--a woman stretched out on a poolside chaise, children skipping in the yard, and a golfer teeing off--add to the whimsy. Joe Hardy, founder of the resort, is an avid art collector art who doesn't believe art should be behind glass. So as you wander around you can see the $45 million Hardy Family Art Collection including a million dollar Tiffany lamp, a piece of the Berlin Wall and other pieces by great artists.
So where did JoJo and the bachelors go during their stay? Maybe the Adventure Center to do the Flatbird SuperFlyer (dueling zip lines), or maybe they hit up the ropes course to up the rivalry between the gents.
And who doesn't need pampering? The resort's luxury spa has 40 treatment rooms, a full service salon, steam room, sauna, hot tub, and heated lap pool. For acupuncture, and stress relief, something the entire Bachelorette group badly needed, the Holistic Healing Center is ideal.
While there are plenty of dining options, everyone should experience Lautrec, one of only 27 five-star, five diamond restaurants in the world. The restaurant features sumptuous seasonal offerings created with local ingredients. And it's Kristin Butterworth, chef de cuisine, who is the star here.
Sure, you might not be living JoJo's glamorous reality TV life, but at Nemacolin, you can experience parts of it.
